How Would Friends, Family & Colleagues Describe You? “They would describe me as compassionate, generous, and hilarious!”
Julia Aquila grew up in Huntsville and has lived most of her adult life here. Her parents led by example and instilled in her the desire to help others as much as possible and find a purpose in life. After studying history in college, Julia knew that her purpose was to help those who may not be able to help themselves.
Her first step towards making sure she’d be able to fight for others was law school. While attending the University of Alabama School of Law, Julia became a member of the Alabama Law Review and graduated in the top 10% of her class. After law school, she began her career by joining the Bradley law firm as an associate in its litigation department. She later served as the first human resources director for the Huntsville-Madison County Public Library and also as a teacher while raising her children.
Julia joined Siniard, Timberlake & League in 2012 and has found her place in serving the injured workers of North Alabama since that time. Her area of practice is workers’ compensation law. She works hard to both listen to her clients and to understand their individual needs while explaining the realities of the law. Julia has adopted a life mantra of being empathetic, patient, and strong and employs those traits with clients. Those characteristics coupled with life experiences have helped lead her to career success.
Julia acknowledges her family as a source of motivation and counsel. She credits her mom for some of the best advice she’s ever received: Don’t take everything in life too seriously; sometimes you just need to enjoy the ride. And when she’s looking for inspiration, she often finds it in her children. She’s proud that they have grown into compassionate, smart individuals who are not afraid to question power and complacency.
When she has a bit of downtime, Julia enjoys reading, traveling with her family, and watching BBC (British Broadcasting Company) shows on Netflix.
